She graduated in product design from Central Saint Martin's School and the Royal College of Arts in London. She then joined designer Hella Jongerius's studio in Berlin. In 2013, she founded her own studio in Paris and has since cultivated a hybrid and transversal approach to design, blending industrial, artistic, and artisanal projects, with a pronounced taste for research and a strong attachment to working with color. Through her career, punctuated by artist residencies around the world (Design For Peace in Burkina Faso, IDE in Puglia, Italy, ADIR with the CushCush Gallery in Bali, Indonesia), she has become truly aware of the power of the object as a vehicle for narrative and cultural identity.&nbsp; Drawing inspiration from her travels and encounters with other cultures, she believes in the need to anchor design in a particular context, which in turn strongly influences her creative response. Les odeurs demeurent toutefois une composante oubliée dans l’univers de l’Objet. C’est ce constat qui a poussé Carole Calvez (designer olfactif) et Marta Bakowski (designer coloriste) à collaborer pour mener ensemble une recherche au long cours sur le dialogue entre couleurs et odeurs via le prisme du design. La mise en volume et en couleur des odeurs à travers le médium de l’objet (et son usage) lui offre des perspectives et vocations plurielles. À la fois créateur d’une ambiance et d’une expérience sensorielle, narrative et esthétique, l’objet devient aussi immanquablement un outil de traduction et de pédagogie. A l’occasion de la Design Week à Milan, le binôme a choisi de travailler des odeurs dites « électriques&nbsp;» et «&nbsp;métalliques&nbsp;», en écho avec l’univers du mobilier, et a pour la première fois dans sa recherche, travaillé la matière lumineuse.&nbsp;&nbsp; Halo est un dispositif sensoriel de restitution d’odeur à travers l’expérience d’une perception colorielle. Présenté sous la forme d’une applique murale, l’objet se compose d’une pastille de couleur manipulable d’avant en arrière, permettant à la fois de libérer une odeur et de diffuser un halo de lumière colorée, variable en intensité.Cette matérialisation de l’odeur par une interaction chromatique permet d’exprimer la subtilité et la complexité des facettes olfactives issues d’une même matière première. La couleur audacieuse d’un côté et les surfaces sensuelles et rythmées de l’autre, le tout réuni dans un exercice intuitif de la forme. Painters, street artists, designers, sculptors, architects, jewelers, graphic artists... Each artist was given a wooden egg and transformed it into a unique artwork filled with chocolates. The 100 eggs were presented in a famous contemporary art gallery in Paris, where a scenography was imagined. Each egg was placed on a rotating motorized base lined with mirrors, transforming all the eggs into a large piece of kinetic art. Sales went to Association Arc en Ciel, that makes ill children’s dreams come true&nbsp; FR︎Pour Pâques, Le Chocolat des Français a demandé à 100 artistes de réaliser 100 œufs de Pâques uniques et originaux. Peintres, street artistes, designers, sculpteurs, architectes, bijoutiers, graphistes... Chaque artiste a reçu un œuf en bois et l'a transformé en une œuvre d'art unique fourrée de chocolats. Les 100 œufs ont été présentés dans une célèbre galerie d'art contemporain de Paris, où une scénographie a été imaginée. Chaque œuf était placé sur une base motorisée rotative bordée de miroirs, transformant tous les œufs en une grande œuvre d'art cinétique. A space in which the text, drawings or images meet in a free, hybrid and rarely linear form, thus offering an exploded and lively reading. During her research, Marta Bakowski collected and inventoried images, shapes, silhouettes, colors, materials, patterns, words and typographies, thus creating a repertoire which enabled her to constitute a starting palette that she later translated and played with to create her own narrative. Conceived as a three-dimensional travel diary, a succession of polaroids, fragments of memory illustrating key moments experienced by the designer throughout her Balinese journey, the collection creates a multi-dimensional narrative in the form of a series of three cabinets, referencing elements from everyday life as well as local religious beliefs and folk traditions. Kites made of subtle palm leaf marquetry and motifs inspired by offerings and local art forms painted by hand or delicately carved in wood meet illustrations typically found in street markets in a resolutely colorful atmosphere. A playful and free ode to Balinese craftsmanship and know-how. The collection features characteristic imagery and details found in traditional Kamasan-style paintings, which depict stories and characters from epics such as the Mahabaratha. My desire was to offer an object that tells a story. I wanted to invert the materials and highlight the silver metal by placing it on top. By choosing the polished-mirror finish, my idea was to design an object that plays with its reflections. A single flower is enough to give the illusion of a bouquet, since it is reflected on both sides of the object. The winged shape of the flower picker recalls the silhouette of a butterfly which lands furtively on the table. The lines are clean and minimal, in order to let the flowers do the rest. Only an openwork pattern brings a nice rhythm to the surface of the wing and allows light to pass through, graphically fragmenting the image. FR︎L’intention première de Mireille 1926 était celle de repenser les objets oubliés. Mon envie était de proposer un objet qui raconte une histoire. Nous avons choisis de revisiter le pique-fleurs des années 50. J'ai voulu inverser les matières et mettre en valeur le métal argenté en le plaçant sur le dessus. En choisissant la finition poli miroir, mon idée était de concevoir un objet qui joue avec les reflets. Une seule fleur suffit à donner l’illusion d’un bouquet, puisqu’elle se reflète des deux côtés de l’objet.La forme ailée du pique-fleurs rappelle la silhouette d'un papillon qui se pose furtivement sur la table. Les lignes sont épurées et minimales, afin de laisser les fleurs faire le reste. Seul un motif ajouré apporte un joli rythme à la surface de l'aile et laisse passer la lumière, fragmentant graphiquement l'image.
